By Stephen Sandecki -
A plaintiff in a lawsuit can go through one of the hardest financial times ever in their life; this is especially true with injury or accident lawsuits. During the time of the lawsuit the plaintiff is usually unable to work due to injuries related to injury or the accident. This removes part or the entire income source of the plaintiff. Due to ethical issues your attorney cannot loan you money during your pending lawsuit, this can create issues that might make your want to settle early to satisfy your debt to your attorney. This can also cause the plaintiff to settle the lawsuit early and for a lesser amount than the case would be awarded with a verdict in the plaintiffs favor.
It?s even common for people to have to claim bankruptcy during or after a lawsuit. This can happen due to past due medical bills, mortgage payments and car payments. You can also obtain a large amount of debt during your lawsuit and lose your case; this gives you no access to funds to pay off this large amount of debt, resulting in bankruptcy. It?s sad that an individual can get into this situation when they were they injured party. However, there is a solution that a plaintiff can get to prevent financial melt down and keep all their bills and debts up to date while allowing the lawsuit to finish completely and have a verdict issued by a judge or jury.
This solution is called a settlement loan; a settlement loan is simple to understand, it?s basically a lender or investor who buys interested into your lawsuit. They will loan you a specific amount of money based on the merit and awardable amount of your lawsuit. They will receive back the loaned amount, interested and a nominal fee if you will your case. If you happen to lose your lawsuit you do not have to pay back the settlement loan. This is a great way for plaintiffs to keep financially sound during their pending lawsuit. Another great thing about a settlement loan is you don?t have to have perfect credit; in fact your credit history isn?t even looked at during the settlement loan process.
As you can tell, a settlement loan is an excellent choice during a pending lawsuit if you need access to funds. It will prevent you from having to declare bankruptcy due to debt and bills piling up. Settlement loan?s will also prevent you from having to settle your case early and for a lesser awardable amount to get access to the funds you need. If your in the situation where bankruptcy might be required due to a pending lawsuit consider a settlement loan to keep you afloat.

3 Keys To Making Giant Leaps In Web Product Development ...
According to an article written by Robert Hoekman, Jr., user experience specialist, author and principal at Miskeeto.com there?s nothing wrong with improving an existing design. But if you?re interested in UX design and designing a truly innovative product, listen and read on.
In this 10 minute interview, I talk with Robert about the walk-aways for Web professionals including his thoughts on how to ?stop making problem-solving your end goal. Don?t just solve the problem; solve it in a way that leaves your customers astounded and your competition dumbfounded.? I also talk to him about his heartfelt experiences as a Web professional rock star and his new book entitled ?Big Deal: On Being Famous to Almost No One? that is available as an ebook at Amazon.com
Technology designers shout the famous Einstein quote with the same frequency and urgency that a puppy relieves itself on your favorite rug: ?Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not simpler.? But how frequently do they actually achieve this noble ambition? Almost never.
Of course, the problem with Einstein?s quote is not in the words used to craft it, but in its application. Tech designers, almost as a rule, and without even thinking about it, use what they know now as the starting line for their designs. Good design, after all, comes from incremental improvements based on old standards. But there?s a catch: On rare occasions, a disruptive design comes along that establishes a paradigm so far beyond the current that competitors spend the next year with their jaws on the floor, struggling to catch up, and that kind of design doesn?t come from incremental improvement; it comes from an outright assault on the status quo. This is no time to be shy, or tame. If you want a great design, you have to go Samuel Jackson on the thing. ?Part of the problem is that the tech has outpaced our thinking.?
Smartphones, if you?ll recall, were downright awful until the iPhone set the new standard. Prior to that seismic event, the Motorola RAZR was the best-selling cell phone. Using the web on that thing was almost as confounding as making a phone call. The iPhone?s biggest innovation wasn?t in the aesthetic, the hardware, or even the introduction of the app model (though both certainly played a part). Its biggest innovation was its extreme degree of usability, plain and simple. The phone represented an advance in usability significant enough to be considered a re-imagining by customers and the media. The product was so much more usable by all accounts than others on the market that all Apple had to do to make it fly off the shelf was show a disembodied hand using it to do all the same things we struggled with on every other phone. It took the competition well over a year to produce something that even compared.
[As Hoekman points out, the real innovation starts at your 11th idea, not your first.]
Apple?s iOS devices may be among the most advanced pieces of engineering in history, but that isn?t their purpose. Their purpose is to be among the most usable pieces of personal tech in history. iOS is arguably the most approachable computing platform ever invented, and the extreme degree of usability it offers is the reason every parent in America right now has a story about a three-year-old who picked it up and intuited its use. And although Apple is certainly playing catch-up now on a variety of features (such as wireless delta updates, something other phones had for months prior to iOS 5), it set the bar, and that bar has made the company billions of dollars.
The lesson to be learned here: Good design may come from small steps, but important design comes from giant leaps.
So what?s stopping us?
Part of the problem is that the technology, which tech companies have more than proven can now handle impossible things, has outpaced our thinking. We?re still thinking in clicks when the tech is giving us gestures. We?re still tying our users to desktop computers when the tech enables us to go wherever our users go. What will push personal tech into the future now is figuring out how people will use all that computing power. Once and for all, we need to stop making technology usable and start making usable technology. The goal can no longer be merely to improve peoples? experiences with technology; it must now be to use technology to change their experiences in life.
It?s the plainest message, the most explainable scope, the most intuitive usage model, the most appealing aesthetic, and the clearest purpose that compose a design of superior usability. It?s when these things are at their absolute finest and working in concert that a user?s experience is truly great. And it?s the person who becomes giddy in the face of such a challenge that stands the best shot at realizing a product, or even a feature, that matters as much. ?Design criteria help you envision a product that pushes the boundaries.? If you?re such a person, here are a few mantras to consider tattooing on your forehead: 1. Stop designing solutions
Creating a Flickr knock-off to address users who want to organize photos is a solution. Creating Flickr in the first place? That wasn?t about solving a problem. That was about reinventing the act of photo-sharing to create something that had global reach and could be used by the masses.
Stop making problem-solving your end goal. Don?t just solve the problem; solve it in a way that leaves your customers astounded and your competition dumbfounded.
Achieving this means developing a strong product vision and making sure everyone knows it by heart, and writing up a set of design criteria?specific, actionable guidelines that describe the eventual experience of using the design?that help you envision a product that pushes the boundaries established by your competitors (and likely even yourself). Setting up those criteria isn?t about laying out what you know is possible, but laying out what you want. The proof will be in the execution, of course, but great execution starts here.
2. Start at number 11
Make incremental improvements and you get a design that?s incrementally better; make significant improvements and you get a design that?s important. Never accept the first idea you have?or even the tenth. Start with number 11. Whether done through back-of-the-napkin sketches, wireframes, blueprints, or engineering schematics, keep designing wilder ideas until you?ve reached so far into the abyss you?re not sure the thing is actually possible. Most of the time, it is?you just haven?t yet pushed your team far enough to discover they can accomplish it. Technology is no longer a serious limitation for most products. The only thing stopping you is your desire and willingness to push yourself and your team toward something more extreme than you previously thought possible.
3. Extreme usability is the goal
Usable products are those more convenient than the current alternatives (including your own), which is to say they?re more understandable, more approachable, more accessible, often (but certainly not always) cheaper, and frequently more beautiful. Touchscreens made using the web more convenient than on older smartphones. Contextual virtual keyboards made data entry (an email address, for example) more convenient than on a tactile keyboard. Video streaming made face-to-face meetings more convenient than driving to and from an office. These are not solutions; they?re the product of the pursuit of extreme convenience.
Regardless of whether you aim for advanced technology, make it a priority to aim for advanced usability. Your new end goal should be to design things more usable than anyone has ever imagined?than even you imagined. Don?t bother with anything less.
The best version of the same old thing isn?t the best version of anything. So forget what you know. Design like what you?re doing has never been done before and it?s up to you to become the person who sets the standard.
Look far enough and hard enough, and you just might.

The Philadelphia Phillies, St. Louis Cardinals and Arizona Diamondbacks should win their divisions, while the Atlanta Braves and the Cincinnati Reds will make it to Major League Baseball's post-season as wild card teams in the National League (NL) in 2012, according to NJIT's baseball guru Bruce Bukiet. The San Francisco Giants, Milwaukee Brewers and Florida Marlins could be close on the heels of the Reds and Braves but should miss out on the post-season by 3 or 4 wins. For more than a decade, Bukiet, an associate professor and associate dean, has applied mathematical analysis to compute the number of regular season games each Major League Baseball team should win. Though his expertise is in mathematical modeling, rather than baseball, his projections have compared well with those of so-called experts over the years.
This year, he says that in the American League (AL), the New York Yankees, the Detroit Tigers and the Texas Rangers should repeat as division champions, while the Boston Red Sox and Los Angeles Angels should be the wild card teams. "In the AL, the competition for the wild card shouldn't even be close," Bukiet says. "The next best team, the Tampa Bay Rays, should win 9 less games than the 93 games both the Red Sox and Angels should win," he adds.
Bukiet makes these projections to demonstrate and promote the power of math. He wants to show young people that math can be fun, that it can be applied to improve one's understanding of many aspects of life and that if you love mathematics, it can be a great college major and lead to a satisfying career.
Bukiet bases his predictions on a mathematical model he developed in 2000. He has made various revisions over the years. His results have led to back-to-back wins as predictions champ at baseballphd.net in 2010 and 2011. More results concerning his baseball modeling can be found at http://m.njit.edu/~bukiet/baseball/baseball.html and at www.egrandslam.com.
In the NL East, the race for first place should be tight with the Phillies repeating as division champions, winning 92 games and the Braves just two games behind at 90, with both teams making the playoffs. (The model predicted the exact same number of wins for these teams in 2011, but the Braves won just 89 games and missed the playoffs by a single game.) In the Central Division, the St. Louis Cardinals should win 92 games, the most in the National League, while the Reds should win 87 and be the NL team that makes the playoff under the new system in 2012 in which 5 teams in each League go on to the post-season. In the West, the Arizona Diamondbacks should repeat as champions with 88 wins.
The New York Yankees (of the AL East) and Texas Rangers (of the AL West) should tie for the best record in baseball with 97 wins. They should each be 4 games better than the second-place Boston Red Sox and Los Angeles Angels, respectively.
Bukiet should have plenty of time this summer to spend doing math since his favorite team, the New York Mets, should come in last place in their division, the NL East, winning just 72 games. His only consolation is that there should be 7 teams with even worse records, with the Minnesota Twins earning the least wins of any team (64). And once again, for the 20th year in a row, the Pittsburgh Pirates should finish with a losing record. Their 68 wins are well below the 81 wins needed to break their famous streak.
Bukiet expects the AL win totals at season's end to be as follows:
AL East: Yankees 97; Red Sox 93; Rays 84; Blue Jays 80; Orioles 67.
AL Central: Tigers 96; White Sox 82; Indians - 78; Royals 70; Twins 64.
AL West: Rangers 97; Angels 93; Mariners 70; Athletics 68.
For the NL, he projects each team having the following number of wins:
NL East: Phillies 92; Braves 90; Marlins 83; Nationals 75; Mets 72.
NL Central: Cards 94; Reds 87; Brewers 83; Cubs 70; Pirates 68; Astros 66.
NL West: Diamondbacks 88; Giants 84; Dodgers 81; Rockies 80; Padres 78.

Replacement Windows ? Good Return on More and Investment ...
One of the primary problems they?ve is whether they?ll be able to recover their investment when they offer their homes when homeowners decide to do some remodeling. Based upon national averages, replacement windows return about 80% on your investment, fiber concrete exterior posseses an 88% return on investment, and a deck addition comes in at around 85%. These are good numbers for homeowners who are going to spend a great deal of money, even though the renovations are seriously needed.
Why are These Renovations so Important?
There are lots of renovations that you can finish on your home that will recover much less. For instance, upgrading your home business will only return about 57% on your investment. People are ready to pay more for homes which were recently current, and view significant structural renovations much more favorably.
Probably area of the reason behind the better resale price one sees in homes with new windows or exterior is that they tend to be more energy useful, better, and especially in the case of fiber concrete exterior, more immune to damage of all sorts.
Choosing your Replacement Windows
You can find undoubtedly a quantity of choices when replacing your previous to consider, drafty, or damaged windows. Wood and vinyl would be the most popular and most energy useful selections, but if you need the most beat for the dollar, vinyl is the clear success. Wood windows, while perhaps more aesthetically desirable, will also be much more expensive, require normal painting, and stay susceptible to decay and bug damage.
Vinyl windows, on the other hand, don?t decay, are of no interest to insects, provide exceptional warmth, and can be found in a selection of dimensions, forms, colors, and models. You can even get windows which have blinds already installed in the gap between your two panes.
The Excellent Advantages of Double Glazing
I clearly recommend against it while it is still possible to buy single paned windows. Not just do you lose the insulating issue that double glazed windows provide, you lose many of the inherent great things about window replacement. Double paned windows also offer major defense from the bleaching rays of the sun, reducing the odds of your furniture, rugs or curtains fading.
Aside from insulating your home from heat and sound, double glazed windows are stronger and provide more security using their included locking elements. Made from tempered glass that is difficult to break, forced entry is opposed by them better than any single paned window probably could.
Locating a Houston Based Specialist
Houston, being a large area, provides the fly-by-night specialist a lot of potential prospects. By giving low quality replacement windows houston on johnmooreservices.com at a ?better? price than reliable, established experts, these questionable individuals frequently catch agreements and do sloppy work before disappearing. The windows there?s nowhere to turn for help, and frequently build issues once they are gone.
Your best choice for quality and dependability is to find a respectable and well established specialist with a history in the place. Examine rates between several such companies, and choose your renovator based upon the whole package price, service, and status.

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (AP) ? Generations of Navajo families have grazed livestock on a remote but spectacular mesa that overlooks the confluence of the Colorado and Little Colorado rivers. This is the East Rim of the majestic Grand Canyon ? the last with no significant development.
But ancestral tradition and the tranquility of the landscape could be subject to change if the Navajo government's plans are realized for a resort and aerial tramway that would ferry tourists from cliff tops to water's edge.
The vast 27,000 square-mile Navajo reservation abuts Grand Canyon National Park, and tribal leaders say they're losing out on tourist dollars and jobs for their people by leaving the land undeveloped. Navajo President Ben Shelly recently signed a nonbinding agreement that lists the gondola, a restaurant, a half-mile river walk, a resort hotel and spa and RV park among the attractions of a proposed development that he says will bring up to $70 million a year in revenue to the tribe and 2,000 jobs to the impoverished reservation.
"We want people from all over the world to visit Navajo land and the Grand Canyon," Shelly said. "We have many of the world's wonders in our midst."
True enough, but the National Park Service already is voicing objections to the large-scale development on its eastern flank. Environmental organizations and some Navajos who call the area home also oppose the project.
"This is just one more thing that is going to chip away at the solitude of the area, and it's really not the appropriate type of development for that area," said Alicyn Gitlin of the Sierra Club.
Similar proposals for a tramway that would take tourists from the East Rim to the river have been opposed by the local community of Bodaway-Gap. They oppose the scale and character of the current plan and want more say in what could be built there.
The confluence, as locals call it, is a 100-mile drive off Interstate 40 from Flagstaff off a rough dirt road. Sagebrush, rolling hills, arroyos, canyons and desert mark the landscape where the Colorado meets the blue-green waters of the Little Colorado. It's mostly quiet, save for the occasional helicopter tour over the Grand Canyon or the shouts from river rafters below.
The land has remained undeveloped for decades because of a land dispute between the Navajos and the neighboring Hopi tribe, both of which claimed aboriginal ties to it. A construction ban implemented by former U.S. Commissioner of Indian Affairs Robert Bennett imposed a ban on home and land improvements in 1966. It was lifted in 2009, though little development has occurred on the 700,000 acres.
The western edge of the Grand Canyon outside the national park boundaries belongs to the Hualapai Tribe, which has a horseshoe-shaped glass bridge that juts out 70 feet over the canyon's edge and gives tourists a view of the Colorado River 4,000 feet below. Most people visiting the Grand Canyon go to the South Rim within the national park. The North Rim, also within the park, is less developed, but has a seasonal lodge.
The memorandum of agreement that Shelly signed with the Confluence Partners, LLC., on Feb. 21 doesn't state the impacts of a development on the East Rim. But a member of the negotiating team, Deswood Tome, said the tribal government expects 3 million visitors a year as soon as 2015 and revenue to be between $40 million and $70 million annually ? up to a half of the tribe's budget not including federal funds.
No one lives at the overlook to the confluence but about a handful of people live nearby, and other families have said they want to move back since the construction ban ended. There is no water or electricity at the site and putting in the infrastructure would cost at least $60 million alone, which Tome said also could benefit residents. About 27 miles of dirt road would have to be paved to reach the site, and water would have to be piped in from miles away.
At full build-out, the project could approach $1 billion, said Lamar Whitmer, of the Confluence Partners, LLC.
The tram would run from the East Rim and parallel the Colorado River before coming to a stop at the bottom of the canyon, where a restaurant would be located. A half-mile river walk, also running alongside the Colorado River, would give tourists a view of the confluence but stop short of it. The resort hotel and spa, other hotels, and commercial and retail space would be located on top of the canyon.
The proposed attractions could create a jurisdictional dispute, depending on their distance from the Colorado River. The Navajos believe the reservation extends to the high water mark of the Colorado River, while the National Park Service says its boundary is a quarter-mile from the river's bank along the 61-mile stretch of the Colorado before it meets the Little Colorado.
Grand Canyon park officials also want to maintain the wilderness characteristics of the East Rim, which is popular with backcountry hikers and not easily accessible, and make sure endangered species like the humpback chub are protected, said park Superintendent Dave Uberuaga. Environmental groups say the noise and light pollution would be unwelcome.
"It's not Disneyland," said Lynn Hamilton of the Grand Canyon River Guides, a canyon advocacy and environmental group. "It's one of the seven natural wonders of the world. To mar that somehow with such commercialism right there, in your face would just seem contrary to what the value of Grand Canyon is."
Environmentalists applauded the Navajo government for throwing out plans for an airport, verbally at least, though it remains in the written agreement.
Shelly has vowed to protect sacred sites, and although he initially opposed any development at the confluence, his spokesman says it is one of the premier locations on the reservation to draw tourist dollars. But the tribe still must pursue land and leases from a community that appears largely opposed.
This is what Tyrone Tsosie called his backyard as a child. He recalled his grandmother taking him out to the confluence and showing him how to use corn pollen ? a staple of Navajo tradition ? to pray to the rivers for blessings. Yucca root, white flowers and sage that grow there also are used for traditional and medicinal purposes, he said.
"The main thing right now for my generation, we don't want that kind of change, development out there because we don't want to lose that scenery and lose all those memories," said Tsosie, who no longer lives in the area.
Said Tome, "We're not always going to have 100 percent agreement, but we're going to do our part to bring development and jobs here to Navajo."

Thirty years ago Joe Davis, a peg-legged artist and motorcycle mechanic from Mississippi, walked into MIT?s Center for Advanced Visual Studies demanding to speak with the director. Forty-five minutes later - after trashing a receptionist?s desk and fending off the police - Davis left with a six-month academic appointment. It ultimately lasted more than a decade.
In Heaven + Earth + Joe Davis director Peter Sasowsky takes viewers on an exhilarating, entertaining, and thought provoking ride deep into the complicated mind of the artist and ?mad scientist?.
Before seeing the film, I had the unforgettable and fascinating experience of meeting Davis in person at a bar in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Much to the benefit of the film, Sasowsky had a similar encounter. So intrigued was he by Davis, that he spent a decade filming the enigmatic man on travels throughout North America and Europe. The end result is a biopic enriched with archival footage of Davis?s early years as well as interviews with family, friends, and the scientists and artists who come closest to being counted among his peers.
So who is Joe Davis? Early in the documentary we hear from a former molecular anthropologist at Harvard University who posits that he is either a genius or the most brilliant con artist that ever lived. Sasowsky lets us draw our own conclusions - and mine is that limiting him to one or the other would do Davis a disservice.
A case in point featured in the film: Davis reasons that bacteria engage in activity that produce audible frequencies but we don?t know what they sound like because no one has bothered to listen. He then invents a laser-powered optical microscope. Pointing his microscope at brine shrimp and paramecium he realizes you can easily tell them apart by the sounds they make, in the same way you could differentiate sheep from cows by listening to their vocalizations.
(Image: Heaven + Earth + Joe Davis)
So far so good, but who cares? In the next scene we find Davis demonstrating his optical microscope at an exhibition in Lisbon, Portugal. Only this time he has convinced a striking young woman to let him cover her in nothing but honey and gold dust - presumably for her own protection. Then he uses his optical microscope to project the sound of her heartbeat and respiration to a rapt audience (it?s clear the sounds of brine shrimp and paramecium were not the day?s main draw.)
In another sexually charged example of performance art Davis sets out to correct what he feels is a case of censorship in scientists? efforts to communicate with extraterrestrials. He explains that researchers have sent images of an anatomically correct man into outer space but the image they sent of a woman lacked genitalia. To right this wrong, Davis transmitted the sound of vaginal contractions of ballet dancers to several nearby stars. The audio recording was beamed from MIT?s Millstone Hill radar for several minutes before the United States Air Force shut him down.
Apart from art bordering on the perverse, Davis has invented a bacterially-grown radio and a frog-leg powered airplane. He developed supercode, a silent or bio-chemically inert genetic code to embed Greek poetry into the DNA of white-eyed flies and the image of the Milky Way into the ear of a mouse.
In 2008 Davis received a Rockefeller New Media Fellowship for a lightning powered laser beam that, according to him, could save the planet from incoming asteroids. He has taught at MIT and the Rhode Island School of Design. He currently holds the position of Artist/Researcher in the laboratory of George Church, a renowned geneticist at Harvard Medical School.
Yet for all his unbridled imagination and accomplishments, Davis has very real-world problems. His MIT and Harvard affiliations are unpaid positions and his uncompromising approach to art has repercussions. He is routinely evicted from apartments, has trouble keeping lab space, and is still, to some extent, kept at arms length by both the art and scientific communities that he straddles.
In this masterfully crafted film, Sasowsky rightfully doesn?t shy from showing all aspects of Davis?s unique story. The end result left this reviewer rooting for the artist at every turn. Here's hoping Heaven+Earth + Joe Davis gives its star his due.
Heaven + Earth + Joe Davis is showing at several festivals in the coming year.

BILBAO, Spain (AP) -Athletic Bilbao blitzed Manchester United 2-1 to lead three Spanish teams into the Europa League quarterfinals, while Manchester City also left England without representation despite a 3-2 victory over Sporting Lisbon on Thursday.
Fernando Llorente and Oscar de Marcos scored in each half as Athletic overwhelmed United, which netted a late consolation goal through Wayne Rooney, for a 5-3 aggregate victory that should have been much more. The young Basque club, which also mesmerized in a 3-2 win at Old Trafford, reached the last eight of a UEFA competition for the first time in 35 years to emerge as one of the competition favorites.
Valencia drew 1-1 at PSV Eindhoven to advance alongside fellow Spanish club Atletico Madrid, which capped a 6-1 series win with a 3-0 rout at Besiktas.
Schalke, AZ Alkmaar, Hannover and Metalist Kharkiv also advanced, with Friday's draw determining the next round of matchups.
City crashed out on away goals despite rallying at home against its Portuguese opponent, which took a 33rd-minute lead when Matias Fernandez curled home a free kick. Ricky van Wolfswinkel doubled the visitors' lead seven minutes later to consolidate Sporting's 1-0 win in the first leg.
Needing four goals to progress, City almost completed an astonishing comeback as Sergio Aguero scored in the 60th and 82nd, sandwiching Mario Balotelli's 75th-minute penalty, to level the aggregate score at 3-3.
Chelsea is the only remaining English club playing in Europe after reaching the Champions League quarterfinals, with the pair of Manchester rivals having to settle with fighting for the Premier League title, with United leading City by one point.
"I don't think we can complain of the result," United manager Alex Ferguson said. "Trying to analyze this season (in Europe) against other seasons is a bit difficult. It's been a disappointing year."
Ferguson's team failed to respond to counterpart Marcelo Bielsa's tactics, and against another Spanish opponent that thrives off possession and quick touches as Barcelona did in beating the Red Devils in two of the past three Champions League finals.
Lanky striker Llorente powered home a 23rd-minute opener as he spectacularly volleyed Fernando Amorebieta's long ball past United goalkeeper David de Gea, who was left helpless as De Marcos was rewarded for his game-long efforts in leading Bilbao's attack when his shot took a friendly deflection in the 65th.
While Rooney secured some dignity for the visitors with an impressive strike, United was lucky to escape complete humiliation only because of Bilbao's lack of finishing in a second half where it could have added a handful of goals.
"Their work rate is the highest in Europe, their work rate is getting them where they are at the moment, they are showing some good combination football," Ferguson said. "I think they can win it."
While Spanish clubs owe their government a combined ?752 million in unpaid back taxes, five remain alive in Europe with Barcelona and Real Madrid favorites in the Champions League.
Valencia defender Adil Rami flicked on Sofiane Feghouli's 47th-minute drive to put Valencia in control in PSV coach Phillip Cocu's debut, with the hosts equalizing in the 63rd through Tim Matavz, who finally beat standout Valencia 'keeper Diego Alves. Rami will miss the next match after being shown a straight red card with five minutes remaining as Valencia followed up a 4-2 home win to take the series 5-3.
Atletico's revival under coach Diego Simeone continued as Adrian Lopez, Radamel Falcao and Eduardo Salvio led the Spanish club past Besiktas.
A late Olympiakos collapse allowed Ukrainian club Metalist to advance as Cristiano Villagra and Marko Devic scored in the final nine minutes to erase Ivan Marcano's opener and see the visitors take the series on away goals after finishing tied 2-2.
Nick Viergever was red-carded after just three minutes and Antonio di Natale stepped up to score the first of two goals in Udinese's 2-1 victory over AZ, which advanced 3-2 on aggregate thanks to Erik Falkenburg's 31st-minute strike.
Hannover reached the quarterfinals of a European competition for the first time in their history with a 4-0 victory against 10-man Standard Liege after the pair drew the first leg 2-2.
Schalke of Germany rallied from a 1-0 loss for a 4-1 victory over FC Twente, as Klaas-Jan Huntelaar's second consecutive Europa league hat trick and Jermaine Jones canceled out Willem Janssen's 14th-minute opener for the Dutch side.
