This month?s Rio Rancho Foreclosure Report shows that foreclosures and short sales are still impacting the Rio Rancho real estate market. Foreclosures are still closing in greater numbers than short sales, and new foreclosure listings appear to be decreasing in number.

Here?s a breakdown of? sales by type.

Nearly 35% of?Rio Rancho?Homes?that sold in August were foreclosures or short sales.

Right now you can save close to 25% on foreclosure homes for sale!

Regular sales averaged $96 per square foot, short sales averaged $81 per square foot and foreclosures averaged $71 per square foot.

Rio Rancho Homes are Selling for Close to List Price
All three types of sales are selling for close to list price. Even though it?s a buyer?s market you shouldn?t expect sellers to be coming way down.
Regular sales sold for 3.14% below list price, short sales sold for 2.46% below list price and foreclosures sold for 4.94% below list price.

Where do You Find the Great Deals in Rio Rancho?
Area 150*, which is the heart of Rio Rancho between Southern and Northern, was hit harder than any other area this month.

Foreclosures on the increase?
It appears that new foreclosures are not on the increase, that they are decreasing in number.
